As I flipped through an old art journal, a pencil drawing from October of 2016 caught my eye. Perhaps, it was because I just completed another pencil drawing that morning. The lady on the left is the 2016 pencil drawing. The mechanical/colored pencil drawing of Edouardo Vuillard is one from day.
As artists it is important to gage our growth. But how? Hang on to the early art journals and doodles because they will provide you with your starting points. With them you are able to see where you have been and where you can still improve. Then, one day, you can look back and say "Yes, I see the difference".
